Tri-Chandra College, established in 1918 AD, is Nepal’s first national higher education institution and has played a foundational role in shaping the country’s academic landscape. Originally named Tribhuvan Chandra Intermediate College after King Tribhuvan and Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher, it later became widely known as Tri-Chandra College. The college initially catered to a select group of elites but became accessible to the general public after the dawn of democracy in 1951 AD (2007 B.S.).

At the bachelor’s level, students can pursue degrees in subjects like Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, and Geology, among others. The college also provides postgraduate diplomas in Counseling Psychology and master’s programs in various disciplines, including Economics, Anthropology, Rural Development, and Psychology.
